Mega Millions Jackpot Tops $500 Million

The Mega Millions jackpot has soared above $500 million following three months without a winner, setting up the prospect of a gigantic payday for someone before the summer is over.

It is only the second time this year that the jackpot has gone past the half-a-billion-dollar mark, after an anonymous player from Illinois won $533 million on March 10th. Remarkably, the jackpot was won again just one week later, when the Happy Trails Trust from Ohio landed $60 million on March 17th.

Nobody has matched all the numbers since, including in the latest draw on Friday June 26th when there was an opportunity to win $489 million. Go to the Prize Breakdown page to find out about all the 312,930 payouts that were won.

The jackpot has now reached an estimated $511 million ahead of the next draw, and the rate of growth is only likely to accelerate until there is a winner. Higher jackpots attract more players, and ticket sales fuel the prize pot.

Mega Millions costs $5 per ticket, with a built-in multiplier included on every line. If you win a non-jackpot prize, the value of your payout will be increased accordingly. This gives you the chance to win up to $50 even in the lowest prize category, or win up to $10 million in the Match 5 tier.

There is no limit to how high the jackpot can go, and it has climbed beyond $1 billion several times in the past. The record stands at $1.602 billion and dates back to August 8th, 2023. This money was claimed by Saltines Holdings, LLC of Florida.

View the latest numbers after every draw and keep an eye on the progress of the jackpot as it heads towards 10 figures. Draws take place every Tuesday and Friday night, and you can purchase tickets in 47 jurisdictions across the country. There is even the opportunity to buy tickets online in many states.
