Michigan Resident Wins $5 Million Mega Millions Prize with Megaplier

Gladys Salzwedel, a 68-year-old resident of Oakley, Michigan, is now $5 million richer, after she purchased a Mega Millions ticket with the optional Megaplier for an additional $1 for the drawing on October 27th.

What were the winning Mega Millions numbers?

Gladys matched the five main numbers in the drawing on October 27th, which were 17, 27, 41, 51, 52 and the Mega Ball number was 13. She had also opted for the supplementary Megaplier, which multiplied her winnings by five. You can view the Megaplier prizes and odds here. You can also find out more about the winners and payouts for the drawing on the Mega Millions Numbers page.

Where was the winning ticket sold?

Gladys, who works as a home-health nurse, bought the Mega Millions ticket at the Admiral gas station, which is located on 12800 Brady Rd, Chesaning. She commented on her win, saying, “I play Mega Millions and Powerball at the Admiral station religiously.”

How did she found that she had won a prize?

The week after the drawing, the 68-year-old heard on the news that there had been a winning ticket sold at the Admiral gas station, where she bought her ticket. She immediately called her husband, asking him to check the ticket. When Gladys found out the news about her big win, she expressed her joy and admitted, “I started bawling.”

“It’s such a blessing to win and be able to retire without having to worry about robbing Peter to pay Paul. God is so good,” Gladys said. She plans on using the winnings to retire, pay off some bills, share some with her family and church as well as take a trip down south.

What is the next Mega Millions jackpot?

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $71 million, as there was no top prize winner in Tuesday’s drawing. Tickets are available from your local authorized retailer or players can choose their numbers online.
