$168 million Mega Millions Jackpot Won in New Hampshire

A player from Exeter matched all the six lucky numbers drawn on Tuesday, July 23 becoming New Hampshire’s first Mega Millions jackpot winner.

A single winning ticket for Tuesday night’s Mega Millions draw was sold in Exeter, New Hampshire. The lottery website reports that one lucky player correctly guessed all six balls to become the state’s first Mega Millions winner.

The winning numbers of yesterday’s draw are 1-4-23-40-45, and a gold Mega Ball of 11. The jackpot is worth an estimated $168 million, or $108.5 million in cash if taken as a lump sum.

Maura McCann, a spokesperson for New Hampshire Lottery, confirmed that this was the first time the jackpot was won in the Granite State since it joined Mega Millions in 2010.
McCann also said that the winning ticket was sold at Brookside Market and Deli on the outskirts of the town of Exeter, which has around 15,000 inhabitants.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been rolling since the last time it was won on June 7 in California. The win on the July 23 draw marks the fifth time the prize was awarded in 2019.

Besides the big victory in New Hampshire, there were 612,456 other winning tickets last night, including a ticket sold in California that matched five white balls to win the second prize of $1 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands. The next draw is on Friday, July 26, with the jackpot resetting to its starting value of $40 million ($25.8 million cash option).
